Harrogate Town have signed midfielder Michael Craig on a three-month loan deal from Leyton Orient. The 23-year-old could be available for the club's next National League fixture against AFC Fylde on Tuesday.
Craig made 32 appearances for Leyton Orient last season but has not featured for them in the current campaign. His arrival bolsters a Harrogate midfield as the team sits second in the table with 16 points from seven games, just one point behind leaders Boreham Wood.
Manager Simon Weaver said the move was designed to add control in the centre of the park. "Having that authority in central midfield can help us deliver more controlled performances " Weaver told the club's media.
Squad addition
The loan provides immediate cover and competition in a key area. Craig's experience from last season, where he was a regular for Orient, is seen as a valuable asset for the promotion push. Harrogate's recent form shows three wins in their last five matches, including a 3-1 victory over Tamworth last Saturday.
