Harrogate Town has been relegated from the English Football League after six seasons. The club finished 23rd in League Two, with Saturday's defeat at home to Barnet confirming their return to non-league football. Manager Simon Weaver has praised his players and hopes they won't be 'scarred' by relegation. 'There are some young, impressionable lads and I don't want them scarred from relegation,' he said. 'It will make a mark, but they are all good enough to react and respond in their careers, whether they stay with us or not.' Weaver has been in charge of the club for 17 years and has backed his squad to recover quickly. 'It was about turning it on them, not in a nasty way. They've given their all for the badge and we thank them for their efforts,' he added. Weaver insisted he had no regrets about the way the season played out because he and his players had given everything and reiterated his desire to fight on. 'It is disappointing but you have more regret when you don't give it your all,' he said. 'My regret would be if I didn't care so much, I would be letting people down. I'm giving my all. I won't be beating myself up. I'll fight back.'
